The First 2000 Days Framework is a strategic Policy Document which outlines the importance of the first 2000 days in a child's life (from conception to age 5) and what action people within the NSW Health System need to take to ensure that all children have the best possible start in life.

The NSW Health First 2000 Days (F2000D) Framework is built on the principles of value-based and integrated health care, with a an implementation strategy that focuses on the consumer experience of having the right care in the right place at the right time, particularly for those most vulnerable to poor maternal and child health, development and wellbeing outcomes.
